About Us

Brian and Jamie Hackney, co-founders of Long Haul Marriage, believe that God's greatest gift, and the one that they treasure above all else, is family. Their value system, and priority of investing in their marriage and their family was born out of tremendous pain and adversity.

Having gone through significant marriage challenges, from destructive behaviors in those early years due to unhealed wounds, to the devastating and debilitating loss of a child, they can relate to the dark nights of the soul, and know first hand what it feels like to be helpless, hopeless, and in life-crushing despair.

Through counseling and doing the tough interior work, Brian and Jamie have continuously allowed God to heal their brokenness, transforming their pain into their greatest asset...their reliance on His amazing grace, learning not just to survive, but to THRIVE in their marriage. They are incredibly thankful that they never gave up, and are extremely proud of the legacy that they have built.

Brian's Book

Brian's Book

What began as a personal tribute from a husband and father has become a deeply moving testament to the transforming power of love, faith, and grace.

In this heartfelt work, Brian Hackney shares an intimate portrait of his wife, Jamie—a woman whose life radiates divine love in every word, every act, every breath. Through tender reflections and unflinching honesty, he reveals how her unwavering compassion became a living reflection of God’s own heart, reshaping his faith and deepening his understanding of what it means to truly love.

Written first for his children—and ultimately for anyone longing for hope—this book invites readers into a story of spiritual discovery, relational devotion, and divine mystery. It’s a story about seeing God in another human being, about dying to self so that love can live, and about finding light even in the shadows of confusion and loss.

Whether you are a husband or wife, parent or child, believer or seeker, A Testament to My Wife offers something universal: a reminder that the love we give and receive here on earth can be the clearest glimpse of heaven we’ll ever know.
